1. Manage, Schedule and Plan
Manage: Manufacturing & work orders:
The first step in the manufacturing process is to set up work centers
and manufacturing orders. Work centers refer to operational units where
manufacturing orders can be assigned and carried out.
For work centers, Odoo gives you the flexibility to create and manage work centers and manufacturing orders.
After
defining the required details for a manufacturing order such as the
work center, the Bills of Materials, the quantity, etc….you can confirm
the MO request. Likewise, manufacturing orders can be set up directly
through work centers if all needed details are pre-defined.
Schedule: Master Production Schedule
The
Master Production Schedule (MPS) is a demand-driven production
forecasting tool. It also provides businesses with real-time visibility
into their production schedule, enabling them to monitor their progress
and adjust their plans as needed. This helps businesses ensure that they
meet customer demands on time.
The
MPS allows the configuration of The Safety Stock Target by setting the
Minimum to Replenish (which will automate replenishment unless demand is
0), and the Maximum to Replenish for a product.
Under "Rows" other rows can be activated, like e.g. Y-1, which shows the demand of the same product one year ago. 
Plan: Bill of materials (BOMs)
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
are an essential aspect of the manufacturing process. It helps the
manufacturers to define the list of components necessary to produce
products.
Odoo's manufacturing module further supports this by
assisting users in managing product pricing based on the costs of raw
materials.
2. Flexible Master Data
As manufacturing can be a complicated process, Odoo offers a variety of tools to make it more flexible:
Multi-level Bills of Materials:
A multi-level BoM is where the primary top-level product and its subassemblies are differentiated. Semi-finished products or subassemblies can be placed with other BOMs, to simplify the production of complex products.
Kits and subcontracting:
Kits allow you to select multiple products and combine them into one package or as various components for manufacturing a product to set bills of materials kit. Subcontracting is also a powerful tool to use when you are low on Human force and want to gain time and money in the process by outsourcing all or a part of the production. You can also manage inventory and oversee subcontractor bills and check the quality of arriving items.
Engineering change orders (ECOs):
The data about engineering change orders will be shown by the ECO(S) smart button, to follow up with new modifications in BoMs and products.
Routings and optional routing:
Odoo allows you to set up the list of Pushes and Pull rules in the manufacturing configuration namely: routes, as well as the ability to organize your manufacturing process based on the routing being utilized, and build new routings for work orders.
3. Product lifecycle Management (PLM)
Managing the product life cycle (PLM) is a critical

products from the manufacturing unit to end-of-life.
