Peace to me is a feeling that I can experience just like love. I want to be happy with who I am and the situation I am in. In rare occasions, I can achieve that and perceive peace as one of the strongest feelings there are - yes, just like love. I am working hard on me to make inner peace independent on outside factors. When that occasionally works, I can even see how my peace passes on naturally to others. I love the concept of the movie "pay forward" (instead of payback). In that sense I want to pay forward peace.

I love my wife and two children and have the best parents I can think of. Every day with them is a museum day.

I see my travel companions (formerly employees) as "super athletes" in information technology. I love to provide stages to see them make the impossible possible. Just like a soccer fan loves to go to a game, I love to go to consulting meetings, live demos, and architecture presentations. It gives me a great pleasure to see travel companions learning the things I can do and even exceeding my capabilities on the way.

If you walk up a high mountain you need to endure exertion. You only bring what you really need. Everything else you leave in the valley. That also goes for thoughts that trickle down like snow flakes in a shaker glass. The same happens with your travel companions. And here you are, on top of the world, looking far in absolute beauty, the minds of you and your companions are clear. And then: Then you sit in an alpine hut, joke, have deep talks, and fool yourselves with a feeling that you could change the world.

I love deep talks about how we can live keeping a balance between what we need and what our (grand-)children and other people need.
